Dub O U was born in El Salvador in a region known as Santa Ana de Camones. At
the young age of six he was forced to migrate north partially due to the civil
war that was taking place during that time and of course the American green!.
His turbulent journey ended him up in the north east section of Los Angeles
(N.E.L.A.) California. As an illegal immigrant through out his whole adolescent
years growing up in the streets was no joke for Dub. These L.A. streets were
nothing easy for him let alone trying to learn the English language which people
like him till this day can't master. His struggle as a minority made the Hip Hop
culture an inevitable path for him. Hip Hop's voice of struggle and resistance intrigued
Dub to pick up a mic and illustrate his life through musical expression.
Influenced by the likes of Run-DMC, The Beastie Boys, Public Enemy, N.W.A., EPMD,
BDP/KRS-one, Too Short, Ice-T, Gangstarr, Native Tounges, Outcast, The Beatnuts,
Cypress Hill, and the Mexikans and other genres such as Cumbias, Classic Rock,
Heavy metal, Alternative, Hard Rock, Reggae, Oldies, and R&B (nothing like
some Keith to make them panties Sweat). All jokes a side! With over a decade of
making tracks under his belt Dub's reputation as an MC is not something to be
taken lightly. His hard work and sacrifice has brought him to where he is today.
Ready to expose his music to the world. Dub O U represents the UNDERDOG!,
MINORITIES, LOW INCOME FAMILIES, PEOPLE OF STRUGGLE them unbreakable habits
" the inner beast " and those who were conscious of their ability but
didn't get a chance to step up to the plate and expose their talent and list
goes on and on... if you know what he means. DUB O U's contribution to the game
is nothing new or unheard of. There's no gimmicks to Dub's music. What makes Dub
O U the MC that he is, is The fire, The fury, The intensity, and the realness
which generates from his dome to captivate his listeners. Influenced by his past
and his never-ending drive to out do himself... In the words of Dub O U "
Feel free to bite me, I need to be quoted "
